Grand Reveal

Went in for another look
Sure enough there standing
Fast awake
Said no please don’t be afraid
It’s you that I’ve been seeking
 
They said it should be forgot
Still I kept on searching
High and low
Rain or snow couldn’t keep
The heart from ever stirring
 
And so we rode
Over every field
Set a course
For a grand reveal
Entire towns
Would come to see
The beauty here
Impossibly carrying me
 
In the dim alleyway
Eased into the light of
Day once more
Turned and let out a roar
The eyes were all appearing
 
Finally I could say
That it wasn’t all a waste of time
But my oh my
How it’s changed here
Then they all did turn away
 
And so we drew
Our last goodbye
Fled the streets
For clearer skies
Only here
Seldom there
Grew into the open air
For as long as we dared
