Misread
Have I misread
The world again
Battling unobservable trends
Yet never knowing when
To speak my mind
Or to hold a light
To the other side
Cut away all the outer veneer
And see what’s underneath
How could there ever be a new way
To set your mind at ease
If we only know
What has come to show
For all we’ve done
The love we change into
A terror from which we run
But I’m learning as I’m going
And picking up the slack
When I fall behind
Masterfully indifferent
But I bring myself back round
From time to time
Need some space
Between the states
We find ourselves
And the breaking of the dawn
Is only another spell
