Bright enough to leave the
Headlights out tonight
Driving till the pavement
Becomes a living statement
Of the fate we hide
 
Feel the air cold and unimpressed
With your confidence
I am here for now
But there’s no way around that
Moon rising overhead
So could we try and wait
For time to forget
 
See you there when we can
Live how we were meant
Lying out on top of the world
How can we stop it if it’s
All we’ve been
 
Feel the earth shaking
Like it heard us say it again
We are always allowed
To destroy what we found
If it moves us away from the edge
And keeps us in the light
We’re made from instead
