Rivers
Here we are again
grass beneath our feet
and if you were to tell me of
a better place to be
well I would believe your words
as far as I can believe in you
And if time were to go
and walk out my door
well I'd ask for him to wait a minute
I still have so much more
and if you're lonely tonight
there's room beneath this old oak tree
If the rivers could hear
the mountains wearing down
and if open fields where flowers bloom
could see your eyes right now
well I'd trade everything
just to step into my mind tonight
And when the band starts to play
and the day can unwind
well I'll be sure to relay the message
to my conscious mind
that it's always better to wait
for your time
