The Universal Way
How much does a mountain weigh
When did the sunlight detonate
Nothing shatters in the same exact shape
There’s so little that we can know
And so endless is the river’s flow
I could always be a rolling stone
Because for all our wondering
We still cannot begin to
Say with any confidence
The universal way
We all will live our days
Here surrounded by darkness
Thrown to the wind
Circling round again
Your silhouette waiting on the hill
And the haunted valley where my heart was killed
The gravel roads that maybe lead there still
Without a trace I was on my way
But soon discovered that I could have stayed
You never know it till it’s far too late
Because for all our wondering
We still cannot begin to
Say with any confidence
The universal way
We all will live our days
Here surrounded by darkness
Thrown to the wind
Circling round again
How much does a mountain weigh
When did the sunlight detonate
Nothing shatters in the same exact shape
There’s so little that we can know
And so endless is the river’s flow
